These Modern Socks

In Case You Were Wondering

My favorite book as a child was Harriet the Spy. I’m rereading it currently and goddamn is it a good book, especially for ballsy little girls who want to grow up to be writers, which is what I was. /Am? But rereading it as an “adult” I’m picking up on a bit more, like that Sport’s father is an alcoholic and his situation is actually terribly sad.

“Harriet, that’s ridiculous. An onion is a beautiful thing. Have you ever really looked at an onion?” Miss Elson was losing all touch with reality.
